Partners in Care: Patient Education on Drug-Resistant Organisms

In easy to understand language, this award-winning program informs patients how Drug-Resistant Organisms (DROs) can be spread both in and out of the healthcare environment, and how to interrupt transmission.


Program Highlights


  • In the facility, patients will be encouraged to practice proper hand hygiene; and understand and follow the rules for Isolation Precautions such as: the use of PPE, remaining in the room, and following facility protocols

  • In the home, patients will also learn infection control practices that include: environmental cleaning, hand hygiene, laundry practices, not sharing personal care items, and wound care.
